Joomla Extensions Menu

You can add extra features in Joomla with the help of extensions. An extension is a software package that helps to extend the options available in Joomla. There are five types of extensions:

  • Components
  • Modules
  • Plugins
  • Templates
  • Language

Click on "Extensions" tab from the Joomla Taskbar and the extension menu will be displayed as the following image:

Extension Manager

The extension manager provides the options to extend the functionality of the Joomla website. To access the extension manager, navigate through the "Extensions - Manage - Install" from the Joomla Taskbar. The extension manager screen will look like the following screenshot:

Module Manager

Module manager is used for managing the modules which are installed on the site, i.e., the location and function of the modules. To access the module manager, navigate to the "Extensions - Module Manager" from the Joomla Taskbar. It will look like the following screenshot:

Plugin Manager

The plugin manager is used to manage the Joomla plugins on the site. It also provides options to enable, disable, or edit the details of the plugins. To access the plugin manager, navigate to the "Extensions - Plugins" from the Joomla Taskbar. The following image is displaying the view of plugin manager:

Template Manager

The template manager is used to manage the designs applied to the website. You can implement the templates without changing the content structure within a few seconds. To open the template manager, go through the "Extensions - Templates" from the Joomla Taskbar. It is shown in the following screenshot:

Language Manager

The language manager is used to set the default language for the site. To access the language manager, click on the "Extensions - Language" from the Joomla Taskbar. The following image displays the options available in language manager:
